This piece was inspired by a 1934 solar spectrum poster and the words that came rushing into my mind as I took in the simple beauty of its rainbow gradient.

“I put my hands to the sky to block the glittering light filtering through my fingers. The beauty envelops me, everywhere, every moment, it’s all around. Born from grief, it whispers “you’re alive, you’re alive, you’re alive!”. The beauty sings to me in a chorus of color… warm golden light resting on my skin, laying on soft green grass, watching wild-flowers sway beneath an expansive blue sky. It calls me home, teaching me, leading me, reminding me to savor this moment, hold it all tightly, let it ache — then let it go”
